Kensington Charger Makes iPhone One With Car
August 18, 2008
With the iPhone 3G's lackluster battery performance, a car charger is no longer an optional accessory -- it's a requirement. There are two basic types. There are those that go into the lighter socket and are composed of basically a wire with a plug on either end. Then there's the Kensington Car Charger Deluxe for iPhone and iPod.
How Drunk Are You? Just Ask Your iPod
June 30, 2008
Since the release of the iPod, the market has flooded with accessories ranging from the mundane to the radical. All are meant to further incorporate the tiny device into another aspect of daily life. Many of these add-ons are innovative solutions for common problems. Others are just gimmicks targeting consumers with a taste for silly novelty items.

iPod My Ride
May 22, 2008
Not to point out the obvious -- but the iPod has revolutionized the way we consume music. We buy music a la carte and play songs in the order we want -- not the order dictated by some record producer. We also listen to our music anywhere we please now thanks to a world of new products that range from ear buds that are customized to the shape of our ears to the most sophisticated home entertainment systems.

Apple says it is taking its wireless technology up another notch with its unveiling of the next-generation AirPort Express. The updated AirPort Express -- which retails for $99 -- has 802.11n wireless technology and is five times more powerful than the previous model, the company says. The new AirPort Express also has Apple's AirTunes application, which enables users to stream iTunes music via computer from room to room.

When on the go, DLO's new Portable Speakers for the iPhone connect and attach together in a handy egg shape that's easy to toss in a bag. You don't have to worry about damaging the speaker face, and when it comes time to listen, cracking them open reveals a surprisingly stylish two-speaker system with a base designed to hold an Apple iPhone.
Five Days With Apple TV Take 2
February 25, 2008
After Apple announced the upgrade and lower price for its Apple TV, casually dubbed "Take 2" by CEO Steve Jobs in his Macworld keynote address in January, I knew I'd finally shell out the cash to buy one. Simply put, the first-generation Apple TV didn't have enough bang for the buck to bother with. However, Apple TV Take 2, with its buy-and-rent-straight-from-the-couch simplicity, finally had a killer application.

Mac Bloggers Update OS X, Upgrade Apple TV, Ponder Missing iPhones
February 15, 2008
It's been a busy week for Apple-focused bloggers -- three major items fell from the Apple tree. Apple released Mac OS X 10.5.2 Monday, and then on Tuesday it delivered both its Apple TV Take Two software update and its professional-grade Aperture photo editing and management solution. Plus, iPhone buzz is alive and well.
Jobs Wows Apple Faithful, Oracle Seals the Deal, Exploding Batteries
January 18, 2008
I guess not every Macworld can have an iPhone of its own. Crowds of Apple fans packed the Moscone center in San Francisco Tuesday to hear CEO Steve Jobs detail new products and offerings for 2008. There was indeed plenty to talk about -- the MacBook Air, new iPhone and iPod touch applications, a major software update for Apple TV, iTunes movie rentals, and a wireless access point/storage device called "Time Capsule."

Live From Macworld: Fresh Air, Sharper iPod Video, User-Friendly Storage
January 16, 2008
At first glance, the MacBook Air reminded me of the photos Palm released of the Folio before sending that product to an early grave -- but the Folio was something you couldn't quite call a real computer. It was, according to Palm, a companion unit to a smartphone, or some such marketing jargon. The Air, on the other hand, stands on its own skinny legs.
A Menagerie of Mac Fanatic Must-Haves
November 19, 2007
There are Apple Mac users -- folks who happen to own a Mac and use it for e-mailing, blogging, browsing, buying and social networking. Then there are the Apple diehards -- the Mac fans who buy Apple products and accessories that maximize their Mac life. Some of these zealots buy two iPhones -- one for themselves and the other just to take apart and see what it looks like on the inside.

Tech Gifts: What's Hot and What's Not in the CE Department
November 07, 2007
The holiday season may still be more than a month away, but you can be sure marketers and retailers already have visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads. Consumers are expected to spend roughly $48 billion on consumer electronics in the fourth quarter, for example, and almost half of that -- $22 billion -- will come from holiday sales, according to research from the Consumer Electronics Association.
Verizon Gets iPhone-ish With Four New Handsets
October 03, 2007
Verizon trotted out four new mobile handsets Wednesday that it hopes will be able to compete against heavy hitters such as the iPhone for a share of the 2007 holiday season market. Two of the phones, the Voyager and the Venus, both from LG, include touch screen functionality. The Juke is aimed at music lovers, and the Blackberry Pearl 8130 is gunning for business users.

The iPod in the iPhone: How's the Music?
July 17, 2007
Perhaps the biggest reason the iPhone has garnered such a freakish amount of attention is the overwhelming success of its music-playing predecessor, the iPod. While video, calling and Web browsing are important, the iPhone wouldn't be here today if not for the music. So what about it? How's the music experience of the iPhone? On the surface, the answers are simple, but dig a little deeper and minor quibbles abound.
Peace One Day, Four Things You Need With an iPhone, Alienware Product of the Week
June 25, 2007
This week, if forecasts are to be believed, 19 million of you will line up to buy fewer than one million first-generation iPhones from Apple. Given Apple's history with first-generation products, I'm not so sure that beating each other silly in a line at an AT&T store is going to be worth the trouble.
