Aspyr Media Ships 'Spider-Man 2: The Game' for Macintosh

The action takes place above and among areas densely populated by pedestrians and motorists. As Spider-Man, players must protect the city through 19 missions in six distinct environments. Being a Super Hero, it is also Spider-Man's duty to aid victims of petty crime throughout Manhattan. Each crook nabbed and crime averted increases the player's Hero-Rating and allows the player to upgrade his or her abilities and attacks.

Aspyr Media today announced it has shipped a Macintosh version of "Spider-Man 2: The Game."

"Spider-Man 2: The Game," the follow-up to 2002's hit Spider-Man videogame, places the gamer into the web-slinging, web-swinging world of the Manhattan metropolis. Gamers become Peter Parker's alter ego, Spider-Man, soaring through a highly detailed, 3D New York City.

Inside a geographically accurate recreation of Manhattan, Spider-Man swings from uptown to downtown between the East and Hudson rivers, using his webbing to stick to anything and everything -- lampposts, spires, penthouse balconies, even helicopters.

19 Missions, Six Environments

The action takes place above and among areas densely populated by pedestrians and motorists. As Spider-Man, players must protect the city through 19 missions in six distinct environments.

Being a Super Hero, it is also Spider-Man's duty to aid victims of petty crime throughout Manhattan. Each crook nabbed and crime averted increases the player's Hero-Rating and allows the player to upgrade his or her abilities and attacks.

Once the player has added more advanced skills, he or she may drop into a local arcade to practice and perfect new moves before testing them on Doc Ock, Mysterio, Rhino, Puma and other Marvel villains.

Limited Partnership

Spider-Man Merchandising L.P. is a 50/50 limited partnership comprised of Marvel Enterprises and Sony (NYSE: SNE) Pictures Consumer Products. The partnership oversees all of the licensing and merchandising for the Columbia Pictures feature film "Spider-Man 2," based on Marvel characters.

Aspyr Media, based in Austin, Texas, is a publisher of interactive entertainment software for Macintosh, PC, and Game Boy Advance games, as well as DVD and audio CDs.
