Ultra-High-Capacity iPod Battery Offered

Newer Technology (NewerTech) and Other World Computing (OWC) today introduced an ultra-high-capacity 2100 mAh replacement battery for all first- and second-generation Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPods.

NewerTech says its Lithium-Polymer (Li-Polymer) replacement battery is the highest capacity iPod battery on the market and provides 70 percent more capacity than standard Apple stock batteries. It sells for US$39.95.

"The sad truth about first- and second-generation iPods is that in many cases their batteries start to fade after about 18 months, and there's nothing worse for an iPod-user than to slowly become unable to access their digital music on-the-go," OWC President Larry O'Connor said.

The 2100mAh iPod replacement battery is constructed with the same Li-Polymer technology used by Apple to make the original iPod batteries. The NewerTech battery also comes with two nonscratching installation tools and a detailed instruction manual to guide users smoothly through the installation process.
